Compatibility
Will TapGate work with your gate?
If your gate is motorised and has a dry-contact trigger input, the answer is almost certainly yes. That covers most residential operators made since about 2005.
Quickest path
Send us a photo of your gate operator box.
Open the enclosure, snap the circuit board and any labels. We'll confirm compatibility within a working day, tell you which two terminals to wire, and flag if you need the pro-install route instead.

Probably, send a photo
The ones we're honest about.
These operators usually have the trigger input, but label it differently or hide it behind a different board revision. Photo is the safest way to be sure.

Won't work
What TapGate isn't for.
- Manual (non-automated) gates — TapGate can't move a gate that isn't motorised
- Garage door openers — different control protocol, not on the roadmap
- Operators installed before ≈ 2005 that don't expose trigger terminals
- Commercial barrier gates without a dry-contact command input
If your gate is on this list, we'd rather tell you upfront than have you find out after buying.
